Procedure for the transportation of wheelchair-bound passengers on the Metro |
1. If the passenger is unable to enter the station vestibule on his or her own, please call the information center at +7-800-350-11-55, advise the staff on duty about your location, and request assistance.

A Metro staff member will come to assist you.
If you need assistance after you enter the vestibule, contact the Metro employee on duty at the turnstiles.
Before you go down to the platform, advise the Metro employee of your final destination and transfer stations en route, if any.
Disabled passengers in wheelchairs are to use automatic access control point No. 1.
2. Mobile stair lifts* are used to assist passengers in wheelchairs on escalators and stairs. A Metro employee will help you go up or down.assistance.
3. Special escalator transportation devices are used to assist passengers in wheelchairs on escalators. A Metro employee will assist the passenger. The escalator currently in operation is used in such cases.

Due to the fact that the St. Petersburg Metro system has obstacles such as escalators and stairs, and due to the fact that the Metro system has no equipment available to guarantee the safe transportation of passengers on electricity-powered wheelchairs, such passengers unfortunately cannot use the Metro system at this time.

*If the dimensions of the wheelchair do not fit the technical characteristics of the mobile stair lift, or if the passenger refuses to use the said device, the passenger may continue his or her journey without using any of the special equipment. In this case the disabled passenger will need the assistance of two people; one of the two assistants must be a Metro employee.
